At the age of four, Bri was diagnosed with lupus. So when she became extremely tired and pale three years later, we attributed it to her lupus. But she began to bruise easier and was more fatigued than usual. Her doctors decided to do a spinal aspirate, but we were confident that it would come back negative as the previous one three years prior. We were wrong. Our fears then turned into nightmare when we were given the diagnosis that Bri has JMML, a rare form of leukemia with a 50% survival rate, even with a bone marrow transplant. We were devastated.
