2018 Boy of the Year

Giovanni ‘Gio’ Toribio is a spunky, outgoing 6-year-old who was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma in July 2016. Gio underwent almost a year of chemo and is currently cancer free. He has not only beaten cancer, but he has come through all the battles with a smile on his face!
Gio was named Honorary Ossining Chief of Police while in treatment and has met many athletes along the way. Everyone who has met Gio, for even just a minute, has fallen in love with him. He has such an amazing spirit and soul, it beams through every smile he gives. Gio is half Italian and half Dominican with a fierce spunky attitude.
Gio loves sports, especially baseball, football and lacrosse. His favorite foods are pizza and pasta.
