Meet Our 2019 Boy of the Year

Graham%20(1).jpg

Graham was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in June 2016; a month before his 3rd birthday. His symptoms began with achy legs and limping, first attributed to growing pains. Over the course of a few weeks he grew pale and the leg pain worsened until he was unable to walk. We took him to the doctor and blood work was ordered. Two hours after returning from the doctor he was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed shortly after.
Graham is now 5 years old and a Kindergartener at North Oakland Community Charter School. He has a deep passion for living things,  from birds of prey to sea creatures to sow bugs; always eager to experience nature. He is also, not unlike most 5 year olds, physically active, curious and opinionated. His favorite foods are sushi (tuna, salmon and   avocado rolls), steamed broccoli and carrots. His favorite  color is green.
His treatment for ALL will complete in August 2019 when he plans to have a big party and hang a sign outside our house that says “Graham’s no more chemo party!” and he wants to invite “everyone I know.”
